Wari news · 15 Oct 2026
Devotees bound for Pandharpur have reason to cheer. South Western Railway has introduced a weekly express special connecting Yesvantpur in Bengaluru with the temple town via SSS Hubballi Junction. The direct service is a welcome relief for thousands travelling across Karnataka and Maharashtra to seek the blessings of Shri Vitthal and Rukmini Mata.
The rush of Ashadhi Wari is over, and 29 days remain until the sacred Kartiki Ekadashi on November 13, 2026. Right now, Pandharpur is quiet. Pilgrims are using this peaceful window for unhurried daily darshan, Abhishek, and temple poojas. For elderly devotees, Varkaris, and families travelling together, this direct rail connection makes the journey far gentler.

It is a thoughtful mix. Traditional Varkaris have affordable unreserved travel, while senior pilgrims and families can book reserved berths in comfort.
Spiritual Bonds and Preparations for Kartiki Wari
The devotion linking Karnataka to Shri Vitthal runs centuries deep. Saintly poets like Sant Purandara Dasa and Sant Kanaka Dasa poured their hearts into timeless Haridas hymns praising Panduranga. This weekly service honors that living bond. Today, it gives pilgrims from Bengaluru and North Karnataka a direct, peaceful path straight to the sacred Chandrabhaga river and the lotus feet of Mauli Vitthal.
Right now, darshan at the temple is unhurried. With Kartiki Wari arriving in November, the travel rush is sure to build. Pilgrims are advised to reserve their tickets early through IRCTC ticketing channels or at railway station counters.
