No VIP Darshan for Pandharpur Wari; Varkaris are the Real VIPs, Says CM Eknath Shinde

Ashadhi Ekadashi is almost here. With chants of Mauli filling the air, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has halted all VIP darshan at the Vitthal Rukmini Temple during the Pandharpur Wari. The real VIPs are the Varkaris. They travel hundreds of kilometers on foot.

This directive prioritizes ordinary devotees. They wait in extremely long queues. The traditional VIP pass system is suspended for the whole Wari. State authorities have instructed the temple administration to strictly enforce this rule. The goal is to keep regular darshan queues moving smoothly.

Darshan Queue Updates

Currently, the Padsparsha Darshan queue stretches past Gopalpur. Devotees joining the line here face a wait of about 22 to 24 hours. Officials expect the rush to continue. The temple administration is working continuously to manage the massive influx of pilgrims.

Mukh Darshan is moving much faster. The current wait time is around 6 to 8 hours. Administration officials and local volunteers are active along all darshan routes. They are providing drinking water and medical assistance.

The Varkari sampradaya has warmly welcomed the suspension of VIP privileges. It is a huge relief. Devotees are advised to plan their darshan according to these queue timings. And please remember to carry any necessary medications.
