Mumbaicha Raja 2026 First Look on September 12: Pandharpur Wari Theme Unveiled

Ganeshotsav is almost here. Devotees are holding their breath for the first glimpse of Ganesh Galli's beloved Mumbaicha Raja. This year is special. Entering its 99th year in 2026, the Mandal will reveal its spectacular 22-foot Ganpati idol on September 12. That is just two days before Ganesh Chaturthi.

This year's theme brings Maharashtra's Pandharpur Wari straight to Mumbai. Stepping into the Ganesh Galli pandal means stepping into our deepest spiritual roots. The space will completely echo with the Varkari culture. Expect vivid displays of our rich Sant tradition. And you will feel the Bhakti sangeet alongside a soulful विठ्ठलनामाचा गजर.

The Mandal wants visitors to feel the sheer magic of the Wari in the city. The 22-foot Lord Ganesha will rest against this devotional backdrop. It honors our unbreakable faith in Shri Vitthal. And it pays respect to the teachings of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, Sant Tukaram Maharaj, and revered saints. Every corner will carry the cry of माऊली.

• By Train: For devotees traveling on the Central Railway line, Chinchpokli and Curry Road are the nearest stations. Lower Parel is the closest station for those using the Western Railway.
• By Road: Lalbaug is well-connected by BEST buses and taxis from all major parts of Mumbai. Devotees are advised to use public transport as parking restrictions are typically in place during the festival.
