Maharashtra Government Approves Pension Scheme for Varkaris

The Maharashtra government just announced a new pension scheme for Varkaris. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde confirmed the decision. They will provide financial assistance to devotees who follow the Varkari sampradaya.
He also ordered the temple administration and police to stop all VIP darshan during the Ashadhi Wari. The reason is simple. The real VIPs are the वारकरी who walk on foot to Pandharpur.
