In a major announcement ahead of Ashadhi Ekadashi 2026, the Maharashtra government, operating through the newly established Warkari Mahamandal, has declared financial assistance of ₹20,000 for each eligible and registered Dindi (pilgrim group).
This initiative aims to support the logistical and medical needs of the Warkaris during their arduous journey to Pandharpur. Authorities have confirmed that a total of 1,199 officially registered Dindis will benefit from this scheme. The funds are currently being distributed directly to the bank accounts of the Dindi chiefs via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to ensure transparency.
Additionally, the local administration has introduced strict new regulations to guarantee the safety and orderliness of the procession. This year, unauthorized Palkhis will be strictly banned from entering the main procession route. Only official Palkhis, such as those of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj, along with their registered accompanying Dindis, will be granted full access. Devotees are urged to coordinate with their official groups and adhere to the security protocols.
